Chapter 11 (Page no: 240)

Orchard management.

An almond orchard is a dynamic structure made up of the trees over a fixed infrastructure defined by the planting distance. The dynamic structure of the trees will be defined by the training and pruning systems adopted and will be additionally affected by the orchard management. Therefore, this chapter will concentrate on the three main aspects of orchard planting: tree training and pruning, and soil management (tillage, no tillage with bare soil and vegetative cover).
