This chapter covers the diagnosis of ectoparasitic infestation in sheep and goats, particularly sarcoptic mange (Sarcoptes scabiei), goat warbles (Przhevalskiana spp.), nasal bot flies (Oestrus ovis), lice (Bovicola ovis), psoroptic mange (Psoroptes), Chorioptes and blowfly (Lucilia sericata). Focus is given on clinical signs, skin lesions, isolation and identification of the causative agent, differential diagnosis, mixed infections, prevalence of ectoparasitoses, zoonotic ectoparasites and serodiagnosis.
