Extremes, ethics and inequality.

This chapter discusses the ethics of medical tourism. Ethical questions have largely centred on two extremes: (1) the 'death tourism' existing in a few highly developed countries where euthanasia is practised and is available to visitors (which, for some, extends to overseas abortions); and (2) organ transplantation (and surrogate parenthood) that are perceived as highly exploitative of poor residents of poor countries.
