Olive oil and haemostasis.

The effect of olive oil on thrombosis mechanisms is discussed, in terms of its cardioprotective properties. A discussion on the main factors that are involved in blood thrombogenicity, viz. coagulation and fibrinolysis, is presented, as well as a discussion on the specific effects of the main nutritional components of olive oil.
