Olive oil, blood lipids and postprandial lipaemia.

A discussion on the pathophysiology of coronary heart diseases, which include the involvement of elevated plasma triglyceride concentration and chylomicron remnants in the induction of atherosclerosis, is presented. Also, the effects of olive oil consumption on the clearance of serum remnants and the favourable effects of olive oil components are discussed as well.
