Abstract

The study reveals that colour of neat semen in all the breeds was white creamy and it was opaque when observed in collecting tubes. Statistical analysis of the data showed highly significant (P<0.01) differences in volume of pooled semen between breeds. Bikaneri rams had significantly higher volume of semen than Merino and Crossbreed rams, the volume of the later two were statistically similar. The gross motility of spermatozoa in neat pooled semen of Merino, Crossbreed and Bikaneri rams showed non significant difference between breeds.
