The oestradiol-17β and progesterone concentrations were determined every 3 h for 72 h to estimate the optimum time of insemination. Ovulation occurred approx. 40 h after the beginning of oestrus. The optimum time of insemination is, therefore, 24-30 h after the onset of oestrus.
