CABI, Nosworthy Way, Wallingford, Oxfordshire, OX10 8DE, United Kingdom

Prior to CABI, I had over 20 years in academic research, latterly overseeing tissue culture facilities and general lab management for a cancer charity. I joined CABI in 2002. I now have in depth experience of the creation of web-based information resources ensuring this information is easily accessed, is relevant, current and meets user expectations.
My initial role at CABI was as a screener and editor of Tropical Diseases Bulletin. With an interest in developing country issues, I helped develop both Infrastructure Connect and R4D, websites CABI built and manage(d) for UK’s DFID. Early on, I was charged to devise the coverage for Global Health, our public health database, and to set-up an editorial board: Global Health was launched in 2004. Linked to this, I prepared training materialsand workshops.
My current role has expanded into product champion for Global Health, which involves promotional and sales support activities, networking with end-users through conference attendance, list-servs, email and blogging. I run or commission database comparisons and acquire fulltext of reports and journals so as to further enhance the usefulness and saleability of Global Health. I work with both Sales and Marketing to promote the success of Global Health.
