CABI, Canary Bird, 673 Limuru Road, Muthaiga, PO Box 633-00621, Nairobi, Kenya

I worked for the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI) for 33 years where I was promoted to Chief Research Scientist heading Crop Protection Research. I have been able to implement over 10 projects with funding mainly obtained through competitive grants and worked in collaboration with an array of international, regional and local partners and donors. I am very experienced in project proposal writing, project design, planning and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment with excellent skills in farmer participatory research and technology dissemination. I have a successful record in: coordination, supervision and management of diverse multi-displinary teams of researchers, extensionists and other institutions conducting collaborative projects in the African region especially in East and Central Africa. I am also very experienced in producing various types of written and visual communication materials and design and delivery of innovative training and capacity building programmes at various levels including research institutions, universities, agricultural extension services and community level.

I enjoy working in rural areas and am very passionate about working with sustainable, gender and environmentally friendly technologies which can easily be adapted by rural farmers, especially women.

I am now the training officer with CABI's Plantwise programme (since 25th February 2013).
