I joined CABI in February 2015 as the Assistant Regional Coordinator for the Plantwise Programme in Africa. From April 2016, I started a new role as the Plantwise Programme Support Manager.

I am an agricultural entomologist, with over 15 years experience in research, lecturing and project management. I have worked in research areas that focus on safer alternative pest management practices in cropping systems, putting research into practice via contributing to development and dissemination of research outputs to end users such as smallholder and commercial farmers, involvement in various stakeholder training on good agricultural practices, regulatory practices of plant and plant based products and related policies, lecturing and project management.

Before joining CABI, I worked at the Technical University of Kenya as a lecturer. Prior to this, I lectured at the Pwani University in Kenya. I have also been a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in Alnarp Sweden. Here I was responsible for a research project on the participatory development of integrated management strategies for thrips and the European tarnished plant bug in greenhouse cucumber. In addition, I have experience working as an Assistant Regional Manager with the Kenya Plant health Inspectorate service (KEPHIS), as a Consultant with Dudutech Kenya Limited and as a Technical Assistant with the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE)
