Nematological Abstracts

Nematological Abstracts

"Nematological Abstracts is a fully searchable abstract database of internationally published research. Nematological Abstracts brings you the latest information on plant parasitic nematodes, from parasite biology to biodiversity."

An excellent gateway to nematological research.

Nematological Abstracts is a fully searchable abstract database of internationally published research. Nematological Abstracts brings you the latest information on plant parasitic nematodes, from parasite biology to biodiversity.

Derived from CAB Abstracts, the orignal applied life sciences database, Nematological Abstracts covers all aspects of nematode diseases and pest control, as well as the current research on nematicides, including the environmental impacts of nematicide residues and nematicide resistance. All aspects of free living soil nematodes, and entomophilic, marine and freshwater nematodes are also covered.

Each week Nematological Abstracts delivers all the new highly-targeted, searchable summaries covering key English and non-English language journal articles, reports, conferences and books about nematology.

The database includes a fully searchable backfile to 1972. With over 76,000 research summaries and more than 2,200 records added to the database annually, Nematological Abstracts brings a wealth of current and seminal research on nematology to your fingertips!

Nematological Abstracts is updated weekly online, it is also available quarterly in print.

Economics, extension and education

Covers economic losses caused by diseases, economics of disease control, extension information, information transfer, and disease management and nematology training.

Other nematodes and hosts

All aspects of entomophilic nematodes, non-parasitic soil nematodes, fresh water nematodes and marine nematodes are covered. Also included are other invertebrate hosts i.e. earthworms and gastropods, and biology of nematophagous fungi and bacterial symbionts such as Xenorhabdus spp.

Plant nematode diseases

All crops are featured, including cereals, grain legumes, root crops, fodder plants, fruit crops, nut crops, vegetables, fibre crops, oil crops, ornamental plants, sugar crops, stimulant plants, rubber, and industrial crops such as essential oil plants, culinary herbs, spices, dye plants and medicinal plants. Diseases of forest trees, weeds and wild plants are also covered.

Nematode biology and ecology

All topics in nematode biology, including identification, taxonomy and evolution, life cycles, epidemiology, disease vectors, reproduction, development, morphology and anatomy, genetics, physiology and biochemistry are covered. Ecology, geographical distributions, checklists and disease surveys are included.

Nematode control

Includes biological control, cultural control, physical control, integrated control, chemical control (including nematicides and plant extracts), disease resistance, nematode detection, disease forecasting, quarantine and legislation.

Nematicides

Covers new products, nematicide chemistry, including synthesis, properties, mode of action and biodegradation, formulations, environmental effects on nematicide activity, usage, nematicides and their residues in the environment, effects on non-target organisms including man, nematicide safety and nematicide tolerance. Includes both traditional nematicides and natural nematicidal compounds.

Nematodes as genetic models

The use of nematodes, primarily Caenorhabditis elegans, to study the genetics of development and neurobiology.

Techniques, equipment and machinery

Includes sprayers, application methods, nematode detection, identification and isolation techniques, inoculation methods and nematicide residue analysis.
