CABI launches new website

CABI launches new website

1 August 2013 – CABI is pleased to announce the launch of its new website. By putting improved functionality and navigation at the heart of its web design, CABI has made it even easier for visitors to locate information about the organisation’s many projects, services and publishing products.

Concentrating on existing and new visitors, as well as external and internal audiences, CABI has updated its website to ensure it provides the most user-friendly service possible. Extensive user testing enabled the implementation team to better understand how people navigate the CABI website. Armed with this information, the team then plotted how target users move through the website and tailored navigation accordingly.

One of the most exciting new elements are the thematic pages. These are web pages that group information around a specific issue in a single place – a one-stop-shop for subjects such as agriculture, food security, environment and trade. The pages combine information about CABI's own contribution to each specific issue, including the organisation’s expertise, products, publications and services, together with relevant background information.

Caroline McNamara, CABI’s Executive Director, Commercial, said, "I'm really excited about the re-designed website. Importantly for CABI, this is the first time we’ve showcased how multi-faceted the organisation is. We’ve pulled together all our activities in specific fields, for example biodiversity or food security, into pages on the website. CABI undertakes such a wide range of activities, from development projects, to publishing, to research. It’s good to show that range of work grouped under these easy-to-locate headings."

Creating the re-launched website from the perspective of the end user, CABI’s new website makes it as easy as possible for people to find the information they need, providing visitors with a more valuable experience. Click here to send in any feedback you have about the new website.
