Abstract

89 - Four interesting neophytes for the flora of Andalusia.

Abstract

Based on the results of field surveys initiated in 1999 to compile a database of allochthonous flora in Spain, the presence is reported of 4 exotic plant species, which have naturalised or on the way to naturalization. Botanical descriptions are presented of Pennisetum setaceum (fountain grass), Hylocereus undatus, Chasmanthe aethiopica and Leucaena leucocephala. Information is included on origin, habitat, invasive behaviour, spread in different regions of Spain, the state of naturalization, self-perpetuation capacity and environmental requirements.
