Inventory of arthropods and pathogenic fungi of Annona in four localities of Honduras.

Abstract

An inventory of arthropods and pathogenic fungi associated with Annona was carried out at 4 localities in Honduras during 1990-91. Twenty-six herbivorous insects were found, of which Calloconophora caliginosa, Anadasmus sp. and Platynota sp. are recorded for the 1st time. Eleven natural enemy species and 5 formicid species are listed. Four pathogenic fungi (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides [Glomerella cingulata], Botrytis, C. annonae and Rhizopus sp.), were found. The seasonal abundance of the main insect pests Corythucha gossypii, Calloconphora caliginosa, Membracis mexicana, Saissetia oleae and Parasaissetia nigra was determined on Annona muricata.
