Abstract

Laboratory evaluation of dieldrin and lorsban in protecting wooden blocks from termite (Isoptera) attack.

Abstract

Wooden blocks of Mangifera indica were treated with 0.1, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.8% dieldrin and Lorsban [chlorpyrifos]. Blocks treated with each insecticide were segregated into 2 groups (leached and unleached). Lorsban was more effective than dieldrin in protecting wooden blocks from attack by Microcerotermes championi, during short-term laboratory experiments.
