Abstract
Variation in seedling morphology of Acacia auriculiformis.
Abstract
Seedlings of Acacia auriculiformis of 30 provenances from Papua New Guinea, and Queensland and Northern Territory, Australia, and from 2 Thai sources, were raised under uniform glasshouse conditions, and 17 attributes measured for each seedling. Provenance differences were evident, while variation between families within provenances was generally small. The main finding was the distinctiveness of the Papua New Guinea, Queensland and Northern Territory material, as data from provenances for these areas clustered into three distinct groups. The Thai material possibly originated as seed from Queensland.
