Advances in tropical acacia research. Proceedings of an international workshop held in Bangkok, Thailand, 11-15 February 1991.

Abstract

The proceedings are presented of the second acacia workshop held by ACIAR, which aimed to provide a forum for scientists in ACIAR-supported projects to interact with other research workers on tropical acacias. The workshop was co-sponsored by ACIAR and the Royal Forest Department, Thailand. There were 60 participants and 49 papers were presented. The meeting divided into 3 subgroups and 31 of the papers are presented under these headings: Biology and ecology (10 papers); Genetic resources and tree improvement (10); and Silviculture and utilization (11). Seventeen other papers are presented under the heading Performance studies (species and provenance trials). The first presentation (Haines, M.W.; McKinnell, F.H.; Marcar, N.E.; Turnbull, J.W. Recommendations for research into tropical acacias) summarizes the recommendations made by each of the 3 subgroups and approved by the final plenary seminar of the conference.
