Proceedings of a workshop on biological and genetic control strategies for the leucaena psyllid, November 3-7 [1986], Molokai and Honolulu, Hawaii, sponsored by NFTA and Winrock International-F/FRED.

Abstract

A special issue containing 10 invited papers (3 overviews on Heteropsylla cubana, Leucaena and integrated pest management; 3 papers on Leucaena species and genetic control options; and 4 papers on Heteropsylla cubana and its predators with reference to Hawaii, Philippines, Tonga, and Latin America and the Caribbean), and country reports on psyllid damage and psyllid-control activities from Australia (1), Indonesia (4), Malaysia (1), Philippines (3), Taiwan (1), Thailand (1), USA (1) and Western Samoa (1). A summary of economic damage and psyllid-control efforts in the countries represented at the workshop is included (McCauley, D., pp. 85-86). There is also an action plan and recommendations for the biological and genetic control of the leucaena psyllid, and appendices describing the workshop programme, with a list of participants, a bibliography containing 54 ref., and a subject index.
