Australian acacias for pulpwood.

Abstract

Studies on kraft pulping of Acacia auriculiformis, A. dealbata, A. decurrens, A. mangium, A. mearnsii and A. elata, NSSC pulping of A. auriculiformis and A. mangium and mechanical pulping of A. auriculiformis showed that acacias gave high yields of pulp and produced papers with good optical, physical and surface properties compared with eucalypts and Gmelina arborea.
