Abstract
A heavy infestation of the Asian lady beetle (Harmonia axyridis) on grapes in Siebeldingen, Rhineland Palatinate, Germany, in 2009, is reported in this paper. The negative effect of H. axyridis infestation on wine quality is dicussed and the development of basic knowledge of the biology and damage potential of this invasive ladybird in Germany and the development of new methods for its management in grape culture are pointed out.
