Abstract
The Pakistan Agricultural Research Council in collaboration with provincial scientists and International Agencies, CIMYT, and USAID developed in 1974 a Coordinated Research programme on maize, Sorghum bicolor and millet. This paper describes the programme which aims to increase the production of these cereals by (1) coordinating research endeavors of the provinces, (2) strengthening of research and development activities of the scientists, (3) improving scientific manpower, (4) holding meetings and seminars to exchange the ideas, evaluate the progress and plan for future programme, and (5) providing scientific literature.
