Abstract

A compilation of research in animal health and production form the year 1947 to 1983 was presented. The scientific research in Pakistan focused on the solution of problems of national significance and have a clear picture of the major problems and issues, as well as detailed information on the size, objective and direction of the current national research effort. The purpose of this publication is to provide reliable information and statistics on research being carried out in the field of animal production under the auspices of the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC). It indicates the current status and trends of research in animal sciences. It is hoped, that the information will be of assistance to policy makers, planners, researchers as well as administrators. It may be valuable for coordination of national research effort in the livestock sub-sector. It will also be of help to research workers as a ready reference.
