This new site brings together information about Government activity on adaptation, including the Adapting to Climate Change programme, and the adaptation elements of the Climate Change Bill, plus links to organisations working in the impacts and adaptation area.

Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (IGES)
Established as part of an initiative by the Japanese government to conduct strategic policy research to support sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region, the IGES has a Climate Policy Project as part of their Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Programme.
Living with Environmental Change
The UK's main funders of environmental research have joined forces to launch (in July 2008) a 10 year programme. Living With Environmental Change will provide decision makers with the best information to effectively manage and protect vital ecosystem services. It will improve tools and knowledge needed to build resilience, mitigate problems, and adapt to environmental change. The programme is a partnership of 17 research, business and policy-making organisations including the UK government's Department for International Development (DFID).
National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility
This initiative of the Australian Government is leading the research community in a national interdisciplinary effort to generate the information needed by decision-makers in government and in vulnerable sectors and communities to manage the risks of climate change impacts.
Office of Climate Change
The Office of Climate Change (OCC) works across the UK Government to support analytical work on climate change and the development of climate change policy and strategy. Many government departments are involved in tackling climate change, or in helping the UK and other countries adapt to its possible future impacts. The OCC is a shared resource for all departments.
Scottish Climate Change Impacts Partnership
An initiative that brings together public and private stakeholders in Scotland, UK, to collectively address and prepare for the impacts of climate change. Overseen by a small SCCIP Development Group, comprising representatives from Scottish Government, Scottish Environment Protection Agency, Sustainable Scotland Network, UK Climate Impacts Programme and the Scotland and Northern Ireland Forum for Environmental Research (SNIFFER).
US Climate Change Science Program
Integrates federal research on global climate change as sponsored by 13 federal agencies.
US NOAA Climate Prediction Center
Provides operational predictions of climate variability, real-time monitoring of climate and the required databases, and assessments of the origins of major climate anomalies. Time scales covered extend from a week to seasons, extending into the future as far as technically feasible, and cover the land, the ocean, and the atmosphere, extending into the stratosphere.
