Improving lives by solving problems in agriculture and the environment

What our people say about working for CABI

At the heart of CABI’s success are our people. We have over 450 staff working from more than 20 locations globally, all of them experts in their field. From microbiologists and ecologists to content editors, book commissioners, web develops and statisticians, we have the expertise to make a difference. In 2015, more than 70 staff joined CABI from around the world. Some of our staff talk about what attracted them to join our organization.

“I joined CABI because I really wanted to work in an organisation that combined my passions in agriculture and the environment, and where our work makes a difference to people’s lives by sharing knowledge and publishing useful information”

“I always wanted to work in a way that helps farmers produce more and get better returns. It was a challenge to find an organisation that covered both aspects, but then I found CABI. With its scientific base, world class research and publishing service, I became part of a team that works on all parts of the agri-food chain”

I’ve always been interested in using my design skills for positive social change. I really enjoy working on CABI’s global issues and the cultural dynamic this brings to the creative process. Working here is incredibly rewarding.

“Having worked with purely development initiatives for over 12 years, I had a felt desire to enhance my personal mastery in research for development. This would be the only way of effectively tackling development challenges – informed by evidence of what works and what does not work. CABI combines both research and development, which allows appropriate evaluation of innovations before they are promoted to ensure they are fit-for-purpose. I am glad to be part of this multi-disciplinary team”.

"I joined CABI because as an organisation whose work I was familiar with, it offered a unique opportunity for me to blend my passion for capacity building among researchers, policy makers and librarians as consumers of scholarly content and sales in a challenging market. That’s something you don’t see every day."
