My role within CABI involves use of microbiological and molecular techniques such as isolation, sub-culturing, PCR, sequencing and fingerprinting prior to molecular identification of bacteria and fungi.

Prior to my current position, I was scientific officer-microbiologist at Eclipse Scientific (a UKAS accredited Food Analysis and Testing Laboratory providing a wide range of chemical and microbiological testing of food and drink samples for major pathogenic, indicator and food spoilage micro organisms), gaining valuable experience of a microbiological identification service.

Prior to Eclipse, I was trainee QC microbiologist at Terravita Sp. Z o.o. producer of a well known brand of chocolate in Poland.

Whilst studying for my degree, I undertook work experience in microbiological, physical and chemical sensory analysis and bottling plant laboratories at Kompania Piwowarska S.A., a leader of the Polish brewing industry and part of SAB Miller PLC.
