Microlasioptera flexuosa

Biology: Microlasioptera flexuosa has at least two generations. Adults of the first generation emerge in May. Eggs are laid in upper internodes, where up to 20 larvae can be found associated with a white felt tissue. M. flexuosa hibernates as larva.

Description: Larvae up to 4 mm long, yellow-orange (picture 19).

Feeding pattern/damage: Particularly young shoots in June are weakened or killed by infestation with M. flexuosa.
