Growth pattern of (a) the tall wheat cv. Koga 11 and (b) the semidwarf cv. Mexipak 65 were compared in pot trials. Total DM production was similar in both cv. Early vegetative growth showed both root and shoot growth but later stages were marked by substantial shoot growth. Root growth after 40 days from emergence was much greater in (a) than (b). Max. root and shoot wt. at maturity was also greater in (a) than (b).
