
CIMRC is a CABI-led consortium which developed and continues to manage the Research4Development portal for DFID. CIMRC stands for 'Communication & Information Management Resource Centre'.
Research4Development is a free to access on-line database containing information about the research programmes supported by DFID. The portal provides users with news, case studies and details of current and past research.
At CIMRC we are experts in developing and managing technology that helps people access and use the infomation they need. By developing classification systems and other information management tools we organise data and information. We also have expertise in developing multimedia tools and creating and maintaining websites and databases.
We bring organisations together from accross the world. From international development programmes to organisations based in developing countries we develop consortia and manage projects - identifying needs, providing advice and helping build capacity. CIMRC also develops communication and research networks, managing information services for clients worldwide.
We put the results from research projects into practice to help developing nations. Our speciality is in applied biological sciences.
We also have experience in using training in both information and the biological sciences to help build capacity in developing nations.
CABI have a pre-eminent name in information science and knowledge sharing based on the development of their specialization in information provision over the past 80 years. CABI provides state-of-the art expertise in knowledge generation, management and communication and in procedures to re-purpose information so that it can be effectively utilized by the target beneficiaries.
CommsConsult provides advice and training in communications strategy design and implementation. It specializes in helping clients to identify their communications and advocacy goals, and to build capacity and forge partnerships in order to achieve them.
The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) seeks sustainable solutions for ending hunger and poverty. IFPRI is one of 15 centers supported by the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), an alliance of 64 governments, private foundations, and international and regional organizations.
Euforic Services supports development organisations to communicate, collaborate, share knowledge and manage information using internet and web 2.0 tools.
We are continuing and developing the work of the Euforic Cooperative, learning from its 14 years of original, high quality programming and bringing together many of the original staff and associates.
