Our resource area for database users offers a variety of CABI database user guides, arranged according to search interface, and product. The files can be viewed online, by clicking on the link, or they can be downloaded and saved locally. To save a file to your PC, right mouse click on the file link and choose "Save Target As". Most of the guides are available in PDF and Word format. The Word files may be edited, as required. Several of the user guides have associated PowerPoint presentations which may be useful for trainers wishing to provide their own, end-user training.
This brief guide is independent of any individual search interface and covers the structure of an electronic database, search profile creation and the use of Boolean Operators for combining search results to build "complex" search strategies.
